Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 3, 2026
This policy explains what information the DialNook app and website collect, why we need it, who helps us process it, and how you can delete it.
Data we collect
| Data | What it includes |
|---|---|
| Account | Your email address and the name you enter. You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email. |
| Phone numbers | The DialNook numbers you choose, their plan, renewal date and status. |
| Call history | For each call: the other phone number, which of your numbers was used, direction, time, duration and result (for example answered or missed). We do not record calls. |
| Texts | Texts sent to your DialNook number: the sender's number, the time and the message text. Pictures and videos are not stored. |
| Credits and purchases | Your credit balance and history (credits bought and used). Payments are handled by Google Play; we never see your card details. |
| Devices and sign-ins | For each signed-in device: a device identifier, device name and platform, IP address, last activity and a push notification token. |
| Support messages | Whatever you choose to include when you email us. |
This website does not use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers. Our web server keeps standard access logs (such as IP address and page requested) for security.
How we use it
- To create your account and sign you in securely.
- To give you phone numbers and connect your calls and texts.
- To show your call history, texts and balance in the app.
- To charge credits and renew plans correctly.
- To notify you of incoming calls, texts, missed calls and renewals.
- To prevent fraud, spam and abuse, and to keep the service secure.
- To answer your support requests and meet our legal obligations.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal data.
- We do not show ads or share your data with advertisers.
- We do not read your contacts, and we do not record your calls.
Service providers
We share data only with the companies that run parts of the service for us, and only what each one needs:
| Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Telnyx | Phone numbers and carrying calls and texts (they keep their own call and message records). |
| MongoDB Atlas | Database hosting (United States). |
| Contabo | Server hosting for our backend and this website (European Union). |
| Resend | Sending sign-in codes by email. |
| Google (Firebase Cloud Messaging) | Delivering push notifications to your phone. |
| Google Play | Processing payments for plans and credits. |
We may also disclose data when required by law or a valid legal request, or to protect people from harm (see our Child Safety Standards). Because our providers are in different countries, your data may be processed outside the country where you live.
App permissions
- Microphone: asked for the first time you make or answer a call, and used only during calls.
- Notifications and full-screen alerts: to ring for incoming calls and show texts, even when the app is closed.
- Foreground service: keeps a call going when you leave the app or lock the screen, with a "Call in progress" notification.
How long we keep data
- Account, numbers, call history, texts and credit history: while your account is open.
- Sign-in codes: deleted automatically when they expire.
- Device sign-ins: until you log out, remove the device, or the sign-in expires.
- When you delete your account, all of the above is deleted at once and your numbers are released. We keep a short record of the deletion (email, name, account dates, released numbers and the unused credit balance) for legal, accounting and fraud-prevention purposes.
Security
All connections use HTTPS. Sign-in codes are stored only as hashes, and every request is checked against your account. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and fix problems quickly.
Your choices and rights
- You can change your name in the app under Settings.
- You can delete individual chats, sign out other devices, or delete your account in the app.
- Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your data, or to object to some uses. Email support@dialnook.com from your account's email address and we will respond within 30 days.
To delete your account and data, see Delete your account.
Children
DialNook is not for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. For important changes, we will also tell you in the app.
